A mandatory course by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH/KKM) for all food handlers, in compliance with the Food Act 1983 and Food Hygiene Regulations 2009.

Course Content

The module is divided into 4 sessions, totaling 3 hours. The content covers the following topics:

  • Food laws and regulations
  • Food hygiene
  • Good vs. bad food handling practices
  • Premise cleanliness and pest control programs
  • Food safety
  • Selection, handling, and storage of raw materials
  • Cross-contamination
  • Food packaging and serving
  • Critical factors of food poisoning

Learning Outcomes

Upon completing the course, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the importance of food safety and hygiene.
  • Summarize the legal responsibilities of food handlers and food business operators.
  • Identify and describe types of food hazards that can affect human health and how to eliminate them.
  • Minimize and prevent cross-contamination.
  • Apply Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Hygiene Practices (GHP) within food premises.

groups Who Should Attend This Course?

Generally, all food handlers operating in Malaysia are MANDATED by law to attend the Food Handling Course. A food handler is defined as anyone who directly or indirectly handles food for commercial purposes. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Food outlets (school canteens, kiosks, stalls, food courts, restaurants, markets, night markets, etc.)
  • Hospitality services (hotels/resorts, hospital kitchens, and National Service/PLKN kitchens)
  • Nurseries, kindergartens, childcare centres, and welfare homes
  • All types of catering services (including offshore oil & gas catering)
  • Supermarkets

Yes. The Food Handler Course is frequently referred to as the "KKM Course" as it is conducted according to the guidelines and approval of the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM). Other synonymous terms include Food Handling Course, Food Handling Class, Food Handler Training, and Kursus Kendalian Makanan—all of which refer to the exact same program.

The duration of the training session is exactly three (3) hours.
Is this course conducted online?expand_more
For June Slots: The course will be conducted fully via physical sessions at our training center. From July Onwards: We plan to introduce online sessions via Google Meet or Zoom. Participants interested in the online sessions must meet the following technical requirements: • A functional laptop or smartphone. • A stable and adequate internet connection throughout the session • The Google Meet or Zoom application installed on the device.

Participant records are securely archived by our management for future reference and reprinting purposes. Please note that certificate reprinting services are strictly exclusive to participants who registered and completed their training with us.

The course is generally conducted three (3) times a week throughout the year, subject to the current monthly schedule.
When will the certificate be issued?expand_more
For physical sessions, the physical certificate will be printed and handed over directly to participants immediately upon course completion on the same day. The digital certificate (PDF format) will be sent within one (1) working day after the registration and class are fully finalized.
Can I make a booking for more than one participant?expand_more
Yes. Group registrations are permitted, and the registration fee remains RM50 per participant.
